Do u think my husband can get a better offer in Dubai?
We live in Doha Qatar. My husband is a teacher and he teaches at a good reputated Academy in Doha. His salary is QR26,000 (Around $7,124) everything in it (housing, transportation allowance, and basic salary) He gets a yearly ticket, also his wife and 3 of his children. He gets 40 calendar days paid leave annually. Can he get a better offer in Dubai? Of yes, where for instance? His basic is QR10,000

You know when you have a job in your own country and getting all the benefits etc, sometimes its best to stay where you are. He would probably get a little more or less here depending on authenicated degrees etc, but in the end job security is the big issue here. You can't guarantee you will have the job at the next term let alone the complete year as there are too many admin changes in schools and people in charge who come from broad , come with little experience/understanding of culture here or even curriculums of the country, they can't relate to them either . They always look out for their own ( whatever nationality has control).

Sounds like you are doing really well where you are. It will be hard to find better.

QR 26k is a very good salary for a teacher if you compare with what a teacher with a good experience earns in Dxb. In Dxb the salary starts around AED 2000 for a teacher and if he/she is not having a UK or a US degree then the chances of getting more than AED 3000 per month are very bleak irrespective of the experience and qualification. Moreover, Dxb is much more expensive than Doha. It is more conjested and has a lot of traffic problems. Hence finding an accomodation will be a great challenge in Dxb and a lot of your husband's time can be wasted in transit. Therefore, it is better to stay there.

stay in Doha please, you are doing very well there. Dubai is very stressful with its traffic and accommodation problems.

There is no harm in applying and finding your market price and see if you get an offer you like. One thing worth mentioning, life in dubai is probably more expensive than qatar. Here is a link for schools, you can try applying: http://dwc.hct.ac.ae/expatinfo/schools.htm I do not recommend itihad school nor Al mawakeb as it fires people left and right (even in the middle of the year) and there is no job security. Dubai college and emirates international are good schools to apply to. Also try a net search on dubai ministry of education and see if you can get a post in a ministry school.
