Bahrain all the way !!! Qatar is now becoming the most expensive place in the GCC and the inflation is now hitting a staggering 18% due to the spiralling cost of property rents and availability. If you want to hold on to your precious earnings and save a good portion of it - avoid Dubai and Qatar and settle in either Bahrain or Oman.

I have to agree that Qatar is better and less expensive.

living in Qatar is expensive but you are paid very well comparing to Bahrain ... however the purchasing power might be more than for those who live in Bahrain ...and sometimes it depends on the occupation , some are living in the rock bottom while others are about reaching the sky ,unlike Qatar where all ppl usually get kinda of fairly fortune .... as for jobs ,Qatar is trending to the constructional era ,while Bahrain is more like a trading and bussines center... Qatar's suffering is mainly from the inflation(7.2 percent ) ,otherwise its good to live there to make a living .but remember that Bahrain on the other hand has more freedom and ppl who are easy going and tolrant ....so make a list to sort out the pros and cons to determine the balance.

Well, personally I would choose Bahrain. Qatar is a pretty strict Muslim country, while Bahrain is a lot more liberal. Although it is more expensive I think there's more to do there and have a lot nicer people.
