I live in Qatar, and I'm moving to Dubai this year....?
I own a honda civic 2008, and I'm thinking of taking it to Dubai with me. are there any taxes I have to pay? or any otherwise important things I need to know about taking a car from Qatar to Dubai?

There will be no taxes, but am not sure if you can transfer it directly, as you should have a resident visa in UAE in order to register a car in your name,

to my humble knowledge, which i think it does need to be updated, however i guess some import duty which is 5% to the value of ur car, make sure u "manipulate" on its price if u wanna pay less, but if u wanna pay more then be honest and put the "true" price :-p

papers required: - have UAE employment visa - got the export plates for the car - got the temporarily qatar car insurance - got the export vehicle certificate - got the customs fees paid certificate from car company stating that the customs fees are paid

you need to do the steps as "midnight" describes. But you can't drive the car across the border yourself being a women since you have to go thru Saudi Arabia. Either get a man to drive it or go by sea. There is a ferry service for cars between Doha and Dubai. You have to go with the car of course.
